NFDD Treatment Assistance Programme (TAP)
The NFDD Treatment Assistance plan, implemented in 2004 is currently in its 4th year.
Financial assistance is currently offered to patients requiring treatment for chronic hepatitis B and C. Participating hospitals are the restructured government hospitals. Key partners are the medical social workers, pharmacy departments, gastroenterologists and participating partners from the biomedical industry. Participating pharmacological companies are:
- Glaxo Smith Kline
- Roche
- Schering Plough
- SciClone
To date 140 patients have benefited from this scheme.
Discussions are ongoing at present for:
- Expansion of list of drugs offered to patients
- Include other digestive diseases
