NFDD Treatment Assistance Programme (TAP)

The NFDD Treatment Assistance plan, implemented in 2004 is currently in its 4^th year.

Financial assistance is currently offered to patients requiring treatment for chronic hepatitis B and C. Participating hospitals are the restructured government hospitals. Key partners are the medical social workers, pharmacy departments, gastroenterologists and participating partners from the biomedical industry. Participating pharmacological companies are:

1. Glaxo Smith Kline
2. Roche
3. Schering Plough
4. SciClone

To date 140 patients have benefited from this scheme.

Discussions are ongoing at present for:

1. Expansion of list of drugs offered to patients
2. Include other digestive diseases
